True affection

On Saturday night I tagged along to a tiny and very cute Halloween party in Brooklyn. I barged in on a conversation about HouseHunters between two women, the thirty-ish couple who lived downstairs. After an hour or so of yapping about myself, I discovered that they were one of my favorite bands of all time and said “OH MY GOD,” walked two feet away, turned in a 360 degree circle, and walked back to them. “I love you. I loooOOO0oooove you guys.”

Later that night the party across the hall came over and I said to a young man named T’Shawn in a train conductor’s hat (I mean he was wearing the hat, we weren’t inside of it)  ”Look, that girl over there is Khaela from The Blow. She’s-”

“Holy shit,” said T’Shawn, and speed-walked towards her. I didn’t really know what to do now that I used up my one fun fact of the night so I hung out at (with) the candy corn bowl for a very long time.
